Background

Deep in central Africa a state has “failed” in the worst imaginable way. After years of successive corrupt civilian and military governments the nation is now gripped in a lawless bloodbath.

Two main rebel groups have emerged, from the North & South of the country. These rebel armies have been joined by a varied collection of mercenaries, freedom fighters, and ex-government troops who fight under the banner of the Northern Freedom Alliance (NFA) led by a flamboyant character they call simply The General and the South-Side Boys (SSB) led by a popular warlord who goes by the name of Colonel Abooboo Augustus Cambodia III.

A small UN Peacekeeping force have been trying to keep a semblance of law and order to the nation, but are increasingly forced to stay in their bases making only short patrols during which they regularly clash with at least one of the rebel groups.

Current Situation

In recent weeks the current beleaguered government have asked for additional outside military assistance to help steady the country to facilitate a national election. This has prompted hugely increased activity from the rebels as they seek to solidify their control of the territories. Looting and kidnappings are at epidemic proportions and two high profile personalities are missing.

George Mbaku, current leader of the opposition and an ex-president who was deposed in a coup, has been living in exile for some 5 years. On his recent return to the country to plan contesting the elections he was immediately snatched by a rogue group thought to be pro-government. Mr Mbaku is believed to have escaped from this group and is now at large.

Angelina Cheswick is the US Ambassador to the country. Whilst on a routine trip from home to office her motorcade was stopped by an official looking roadblock. An alert bodyguard recognised some of the troops at the roadblock as rebel fighters and they sped off before she could be kidnapped – she is now hiding for fear of being taken hostage, and too scared to contact any government organisations - the US Military have been desperately trying to find and extract her.

US Intelligence pinpointed Ms Cheswicks whereabouts to one of the outlying towns, they sent in a Special Forces extraction team in a hurried rescue operation which went disastrously wrong when one of the rescue choppers was hit by a rebel RPG round and crashed in the main square – leaving the two airmen stranded in potentially hostile territory…

As We Join The Fray

The South-Side Boys and the Northern Freedom Alliance have mobilised all their forces and are rampaging throughout the country to try and capture George, Angelina, and the two airmen as hostages…

The US have initiated a search and rescue operation, and a US Rangers force under the command of the highly decorated and legendary General Anthony “Ledz” Ledbetter, are on the ground trying to find the airmen…

The UN have instigated their own search and rescue operation for George and Angelina. And have a highly mobile force in situ led by General Peter “Robbo” Robinson, famed for his dispatching of rebel groups in other campaigns..

George, Angelina, and the two airmen remain at large but surely all must be captured or rescued soon…
